A major utility-scale solar operator was relying on manual handheld thermal inspections for their 500MW site. The process was:

  • • Extremely slow (took 45 days for partial coverage)
  • • Dangerous for personnel in high temperatures
  • • Yielded inconsistent data with no digital record

They estimated they were losing 3-5% of generation due to undetected defects.

The Solution

Indavian Technologies deployed a fleet of RTK-enabled drones equipped with high-resolution radiometric thermal sensors.

We flew the entire 500MW site at an altitude of 30m, capturing both RGB and Thermal orthomosaics. The data was processed through our Indavian AI Engine to automatically detect and classify defects.
